Preparatory Commission
The Preparatory Commission of the United Institute for Public Administration (UNIPA) plays a crucial role in laying the foundation for the Institute’s full establishment and operationalisation. Comprising representatives from UNIPA’s founding Member States, the Preparatory Commission is tasked with overseeing the transitional processes necessary to ensure that UNIPA becomes a fully functioning intergovernmental organisation.
The Commission’s responsibilities include coordinating the drafting of foundational documents, securing agreements with host countries, and establishing initial governance structures such as the Secretariat, Council, and Advisory Boards. Additionally, the Commission facilitates discussions with prospective Member States, helping to expand UNIPA’s global reach and ensuring that the organisation represents a diverse and inclusive international community.
As the driving force behind UNIPA’s establishment, the Preparatory Commission ensures that all legal, administrative, and logistical frameworks are in place, allowing the Institute to carry out its mission effectively from the outset. Working closely with governments, international partners, and subject matter experts, the Commission strives to position UNIPA as a leading authority in public administration and governance.
The Preparatory Commission operates with full transparency and reports regularly to Member States, providing updates on progress and upcoming milestones. This ensures that all stakeholders are informed and engaged as UNIPA moves towards its full operational status.
