Secretary General

The Secretary General of the United Institute for Public Administration (UNIPA) serves as the chief executive officer of the organisation, responsible for the day-to-day management and overall direction of the Institute. Appointed by the Member States for a term of eight years, the Secretary General plays a pivotal role in implementing UNIPA’s strategic vision, guiding its programmes, and ensuring that the organisation achieves its mandate of enhancing public administration across its Member States.

As the head of the Secretariat, the Secretary General oversees the development and delivery of UNIPA’s educational programmes, ensuring that they remain relevant and responsive to the evolving needs of public administration worldwide. In addition to managing the Secretariat, the Secretary General acts as the principal representative of UNIPA in its dealings with Member States, international organisations, and other stakeholders.

The Secretary General is also responsible for maintaining and fostering partnerships with academic institutions, international bodies, and public administration experts, ensuring that UNIPA stays at the forefront of innovation and best practices in governance. By regularly engaging with the Council and Advisory Boards, the Secretary General ensures that UNIPA’s activities are aligned with its core objectives and that the organisation remains a trusted resource for civil servants globally.
